Resident Evil 4 plot revealed!

Do you like what you’re reading? No? Neither do I…

We’ve got word that Screen Gems released the synopsis for Milla Jovovich and her director-husband Paul WS Anderson’s next Resident Evil douchebaggery.

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Resident Evil: Afterlife is scheduled for release on August 27, 2010.

Unfortunately, the movie franchise wrecked Resident Evil’s true nature. The zombies, the adrenaline-pumping fear, and the puzzles were ones thar defined the franchise. It was also Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire and the rest of the RE characters that brought this game to life. And where are they now? Hidden beneath the shadow of a Mary Sue called Alice.

Personally, I just hope this fourth sequel wraps everything up for the movie franchise. We can all forget that RE movies ever existed, and that a reboot is in order… a reboot worthy of being truly part of the Resident Evil family.

Massive Guild Wars 2 contents revealed!

Naoroji from the Guildwars2guru.com forums took the liberty of translating the Guild Wars 2 article from Dutch gaming magazine PCGameplay. The said article was an interview packing with information regarding the 2010 sequel, Guild Wars 2.

The game is set 250 years after the events of Guild Wars 1, but this time fighting against a new threat called the Elder Dragons. Players now have access to five different races, compared to the first game that allowed only humans. Each race will have unique racial skills and characteristics that clearly diversifies the playing field.

An addition to the game is the presence of companions or henchmen to accompany players during solo adventures. These henchmen are similar to the first game’s Heroes, but does not take up a party slot. The party slots can be used instead by other players who would want to join the adventure.

The MMORPG’s best feature, PvP, is not to be dismissed either. This Guild Wars sequel has combined RTS elements to its siege battles. Taking advantage of the terrain, and additional defense mechanisms like catapults are key elements to winning. Also, Guild Wars 2 has integrated a “World PvP” system. This is a server versus server PvP battle, enabling every single player across all servers to participate in a massive battle.

You may find more information at Guildwars2guru.com.

Final Fantasy XIV breaks its silence!

We’ve had little luck finding news and leaked stuff about Final Fantasy XIV so far after it surfaced last E3 2009 and TGS 2009. Thankfully, Square Enix had the pleasure of teasing us further with a newly-updated website. The official Final Fantasy XIV site is now packing with more information. Partial bestiary profiles, character class previews, an introductory card system and some wonderful landsacpe art from Yoshitaka Amano can be viewed from the site’s highly-anticipated MMORPG.

Final Fantasy XIV introduces a “Disciple” system, the game’s character class divisions, divided into four: War, Magic, Hand and Land. The first two disciples are for physical and magic combat respectively. Disciples of the Hand and Land are two classes meant for tradeskills and hunting/harvesting. Each discipline has different professions within it, such as the unique Culinarian and Tanner classes for Disciples of the Land.

Check out more updates on the official Final Fantasy XIV site

I would like to be an alpha tester, beta tester and commercial player for this game!

Witch Hunt on 15% of Umineko’s episode 5

According to the Witch Hunt’s website, progress on the recently released 5th episode of Umineko no Naku Koro ni is already in 15% editing.

It won’t be long now, until we get the full patch for episode 5. This is worth the wait for readers and fans like me.

PSPgo price drops after a few days

UK retailers are now dropping prices for the PSPgo only after a few days from its release. But remember, the Amazon.co.uk price posted there is in POUNDS, not DOLLARS. It’s still too expensive for such a small piece of technology.

If that’s a sign, then we might see US and Asian retailers follow suit too. It’s reasonable anyway.
