Kotobukiya has announced a release for a Kara no Kyoukai PVC featuring Azaka Kokuto - movie version.

What else can I say as a fellow Type-Moon fan? The make of this figure is top notch. I’ll begin with the coloring and molding of the clothes, they’re just too real. They completely got the colors matched so naturally, even the folds. Another noticeable feature are the Type-Moon eyes which are a staple of Takashi Takeuchi’s style in his works.

Another good thing to point out is how playfully she is posed which fits her personality best. A worthwhile addition is the “lizard skin glove” that really has a leathery look to it; but they didn’t stop there, they also added Azaka’s ingition magic as a removable piece.

The PVC is in 1/8 scale and will be available on December 2009 by Movic.

ASCII Media Works has released a Rei Ayanami cat designed custom plugsuit. The model was designed after a postcard that was released by Takeshi Okazaki (El Hazard - A Magnificent World OVA, Elementalors, Platonic Chain). The designed was recieved with a big success and Dengeki Hobby Magazine soon made a preview of a model kit after the design.

The model is already available for pre-order at Dengeki Hobby.

On the 49th Japan Model Hobby Show, Bandai has unveiled their newest edition of Macross Frontier’s VF-27 model. The model is completely transformable to all three modes (Fighter mode, Gerwalk mode, and Batroid mode). The darker, more metallic and semi-battered paint job on the VF-27 makes it look like it just came from combat which adds more allure to it for the manly toy collectors.

Other gimmicks in this model is its beam-gunpod which can reproduce those flashy effects from the anime. But what really sold this work of art for me is its cockpit. They managed to recreate the cockpit design complete with a miniature Ranka Lee and Brera Sterne mini model.

Bandai has already said that the model will be available to the public by November 2009. But for those wou want first dibs, they can be pre-ordered at Happinet Online for 4,300 yen.

Kotobukiya has announced the release of the first Kobato figure - which is Kobato herself.

Fans can rave since CLAMP had direct supervision on the creation of the figure which truly shows itself from the intricate and delicate designs on the kimono. The face, eyes, and hair are all well faithful to CLAMP’s artistic touch which is always a plus point to any collector or fan.

Additional features include a removable umbrella and cage. The cage contains our foul-mouthed mascot, Ioryogi. The bottom of the cage is also detachable so you can replace what’s inside the cage with whatever it is to your fancy. A lovely touch, don’t you think so?

The figure costs 5,040 Yen and can be ordered here

The site given is in Japanese.

Jessica now in plastic

Banpresto has finally released the first figma for the highly popular Umineko series. First up being Jessica.

Personally, I am slightly dissapointed at how they shaped her eyes. She has a far sharper eyes in both the novel, manga and animes. So I don’t see why they’d deviate from that design. Nevertheless, the paint job on this figure is incredible, observe how the one-winged eagle is painted with fine detail.
